My B3 GT failed it's MOT on Friday. All the mechanical stuff passed no problem but he found a hole in the sill he wanted me to repair. I took into it today and removed the sill covers and rear arches to see how bad it was.
It turns out it was very bad indeed. Every hole down the sill corresponds to where VW put the stud to hold on the GT side skirts. I really liked by Passat but it looks like this will be the end of the road for this GT. I would love to save her but it will take a lot of money to put her right, sad times.
Could anyone estimate a cost to fit 2 new sills and 2 new rear arches?
