Biodiesel reduces costs and is environmentally friendly 08/13/2001
With high fuel prices, Biodiesel (RME–Rapeseed Methyl Ester) is a cheap alternative which is kind to the environment. From the model year 1996, all Volkswagen passenger cars with diesel engines have been authorised for operation using biodiesel (quality standard E DIN 51606). The quality of RME does not always comply with the requirements of the DIN-standard. We recommend that before refuelling, you check the quality (DIN-standard) of the RME fuel.
